We were hired to create a series of billboards for a nursing home group with locations across Wisconsin. They gave us a blank canvas, asking us to deliver a full campaign of eight billboards to be featured across the state.
We came back with the concept: “Living Life to the Fullest.” Our idea? Show vibrant seniors living out iconic Wisconsin moments – loud, proud and totally alive.
So we built out a series: Green Bay Packers, cheese curds, Harley Davidson, and other classic Wisconsin themes.
Packers gear and cheese curds? Easy. Just a swipe of a credit card. But a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle? How exactly were we going to pull that off? That wasn’t something you could easily order online.
I googled Harley Davidson’s number and started dialing. After a few dead ends and several transfers, I finally reached the head of PR.
I got straight to the point: “This is a no-cost opportunity for Harley to be featured across Wisconsin. All we need is a brand new bike for one day of shooting.”
They asked a few questions and said they’d be in touch.
A few days later, they called back. They were in.

The big day finally arrived. Photographer. Models. Hair. Makeup.
And right there on set – a gleaming Harley Davidson, delivered by Harley themselves.
After we wrapped the shoot, I climbed onto the back seat, heart pounding, hoping no one I knew was watching. Turns out, you don’t need leather boots or a tattoo sleeve to ride a Harley.
Sometimes all it takes is one bold phone call.
